About Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant and Bar
"Straight from the sea - right by the sea"
Kent born and educated Turrloo Parrett, who built up the prestigious Eastwell Manor Country House and Spa at Ashford, is putting all his efforts into developing his Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant brand which he wants to flourish in the same way. "Quality not compromise" remains his motto.
All three restaurants have a 5-star rating with the local authorities. The three restaurants are different but they all offer a warm welcome for the whole family which for diners means that at the start of their visit they receive complimentary warm freshly baked rolls and smoked mackerel pate.
We encourage each manager to highlight on their section of these pages, special local events that may be of particular interest to our customers.
All three restaurants have a general menu which does, of course, include non-fish items and vegetarian options, along with a children's menu. The Head Chef of each restaurant chooses the daily specials which is often governed by that day's catch. See our specials section under each location. All of our fish are from sustainable sources and there are daily deliveries of fish caught along the south coast. Our meat products are monitored from field to fork.
Our Wine List
Anthony Byrne Fine Wines supply all of our wines and they continue to supply some interesting and unusual choices for our wine list and are all intended to complement the dishes served.
One of our favourite choices is Picpoul de Pinet which is made from grapes harvested from vineyards adjacent to the sea in the Languedoc area of France. Picpoul and shellfish are made for each other.
About our Staff
All our staff are trained to offer a warm welcome, efficient service, and an informed response to guest's queries about the food and wine served.
Where the opportunities occur, we like to engage suitable candidates in apprenticeship opportunities.
We do not operate a service charge or even a discretionary service charge - we leave guests to make their own gesture of appreciation.
All staff, be they cleaners, kitchen porters or head chef or manager, share the pool equally on a pro rata basis for hours worked. All staff are happy with this arrangement and they agree at all levels that this is a very fair system of distributing tips and gratuities.
